A fragment of Roman copper alloy headstud brooch dating to AD 75-200 (Mackreth type Headstud 5.).  The brooch is missing the foot of the bow, most of the catchplate and the top of the bow (it appears that the bow has broken across the centre line of the headstud).  The bow is decorated with the semi-circular curve of the remaining headstud.  Below this the centre of the front of the bow is decorated with cross-mouldings creating a lattice of cells down the centre with with half cells along either side and an incised line along the outer edge.  The central cells…

An incomplete medieval copper alloy single loop buckle dating to c AD 1250-1400.  The buckle is trapezoidal in shape and is decorated with three lobed knops on the outer edges and centre of the front of the frame.  The central knop is larger and decorated with incised lines flaring out from the central pin rest.  At the opposite end there is evidence of the depressed markings created by the pin on the strap bar.  The pin is now missing. An incomplete Roman copper alloy Polden Hill brooch dating to AD 75-175.  Mackreth's CD PH 5.b.1. The brooch is incomplete and is missing the lower part of the bow, the pin and one end of the wings.  The wings encase the spring mechanism and have capped ends with two mouldings at each end (one wing missing).  There is then a short undecorated section before vertical ribs from the top of the wings to part way down the bow which rises up between the ribs and has a central raised rib down the bow with horizontal slashes across it.  See Mackreth …

A complete post-Medieval copper alloy clock key dating to c. AD 1600-1700. The flat-sectioned bow comprises two loops: the larger, oval, loop is at the bottom, with a bifurcated, drop-shaped extension above, decorated with a wreath on either side. Both sides of the larger loop have been incised to create the impression of a pair of entwined possible serpents whose open mouths meet at the base.
