The sherd comprises a section from the rim possibly of an Oxford ware mortarium (although there is no evidence of trituration grits). The sherd has a thick wall which reaches a sharp apex before turning downwards to create a sharp U-shaped flange. The fabric is a light brownish pink colour with a reduced grey core and sandy and micaceous inclusions. The sherd weighs 59.83g. It is 80.5mm in length, 25.51mm in width, 30.61mm in height and 14.9mm thick.
