HALFPENNY reverse shows a foundry worker seated right hammering with 1791 in the exergue. The token weighs 11.74g and measures 29.7mm in diameter. Die axis is 12 o'clock.

A copper alloy Emsworth halfpenny token commemorating the Admiral of the Fleet, Earl Howe's, victory in a sea battle over the French on 1 June 1794. The obverse legend is EARL HOWE & THE GLORIOUS FIRST OF JUNE and depicts a bust of Earl Howe facing left with a pigtail and a plain cocked hat. The reverse legend is RULE BRITANNIA and depicts Britannia seated facing left and leaning on a shield with her left arm which is holding an olive branch. In her right hand is a spear. The edge of the coin is inscribed EMSWORTH HALFPENNY PAYABLE BY IOHN STRIDE.
