A silver groat of Elizabeth I dating to the period AD 1558-1561. The groat appears to have been cut in half, although the coin is well worn and may simply have been damaged. ELIZABETH D G ANG FRA ET HIB REGINA obverse depicting a crowned bust facing left. The initial mark is a lis and there is a beaded circle and wire-line inner circle between the legend and the bust. A copper-alloy medieval 'rampant lion on shield' jetton of Louis de Male, c AD 1346-1384. Obverse inscription + LES GETOVERS DE LA depicting a shield bearing the lion rampant of Flanders within a beaded inner circle and edged with a beaded circle. Reverse type depicts a triple stranded straight cross fleuretty, with leafy ornaments within a double-stranded quatrefoil. Trefoils in each external angle of the foil. Similar to Mitchiner, 1988 nos 784-9 (especially 785).

An Iron Age base gold Savernake Forest stater from East Wiltshire dating to c 50-35 BC. The state depicts a skinny horse facing right with a pellet mane and solar spiral above and large below and with various pellets around. The reverse is undecorated. The gold is poor quality and the patina is a dark silvery, brown. Cf ABC 2091 (Rudd, C, 2010, Ancient British Coins, Chris Rudd Aylsham 2010, Ayslsham p 107 no 2091).
