A medieval copper alloy, enamelled Limoges style mount dating to AD 1100-1350. The mount is an upside down T-shape and is the mount from the top of a cross. The mount is finely decorated with the torso of a winged man, which is usually the symbol of St Matthew. The mount is engraved, gilded and decorated with champlevé enamelling. Although the decoration is worn, there is evidence of dark blue, greeny turquoise, white, orange and red enamel. A medieval to post medieval 'pressed' sheet copper alloy mount in the form of a cross-crosslet dating to c AD 1350-1800. The front is decorated with punched lines of small pellets following the shape of the outer edge of the mount. The underside is hollowed out and follows the form of the face. In the centre of the back is the remains of a small iron stud used to attach the mount. The patina is reddish brown with light green patches.
