A cast lead or lead alloy spindle whorl Medieval to Post Medieval date (1100 - 1650 AD), most probably later medieval (1300-1600 AD). The spindle whorl is broadly circular in plan and bi-convex in section; it has a rim / cast ridge running around its outer edge. The central hole is circular and has been cast / set off centre; it has an internal diameter of 9.3mm. When reported and photographed the central hole was filled with hard compacted soil - when it was removed an irregular sub-triangular depression most probably a casting flaw in the internal side wall of the hole was revealed.…

An incomplete, cast copper alloy prick spur, possibly dating to the late Medieval period circa (AD 1200-1500). The fragment is broadly T-shaped in plan, comprising of the remains of the spur which has a 'D' shaped cross section. The neck protrudes from the spur at 90 degrees and is cylindrical in cross section. An incomplete fragment from the head and upper bow of a cast copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. The fragment of the brooch is distorted with the bow being further bent and distorted - probably deliberately in antiquity. The head of the brooch is oval in plan. The decoration on the front face is in relief, this consists of a series of ribs. However due to wear and corrosion it is difficult to identify the design and to categorise the token using Powell's typology. The reverse of the token is undecorated. A fragment of a Post Medieval ceramic vessel, probably a drinking cup dating to the 17th to 18th centuries. The fragment is a base sherd from a black glaze ware vessel. The sherd is irregular in shape, comprising of a flat base with a curved edge and a small section of the vessel wall. It is glazed inside and out with a black glaze, including the underside. A complete copper alloy ring or loop which possibly functioned as a curtain fitting of the Late Medieval to Post Medieval period, dating to 15th - 17th centuries. The object is sub circular in plan and is bi-trapezoidal in cross section with rounded and smooth surfaces. The curtain fitting is a dark green in colour, with an abraded surface patina. Similar rings are illustrated in Margeson (1993, p. 82, Fig 47, no: 522-524). Margeson describes them as being suspension rings which were probably multi-functional, including curtain rings.
