The dorsal face exhibits four negative flake scars. There is long, semi-abrupt scaled sub-parallel retouch along one mesal edge from the distal point to approximately two thirds of the way up. A medieval anthropomorphic mount dating to the period c. AD 1150 - 1250. The mount is copper alloy which has been gilded and enamelled. Traces of gilding survive on both front and back. The head is oval with two recesses to indicate the eyes. The recesses may have contained enamel, now lost. The swinger has an offset perforated suspension loop at the top of a long, irregularly shaped neck. The loop retains the remains of a corroded iron axis bar. The body of the swinger is sexfoil, with a central reserve pellet surrounded by six triangular recesses, separated by reserves. The recesses retain traces of enamel in alternating black and red.
