Description: The brooch remains as the hollow half-cylindrical head complete with single-pierced lug in which the cord of the spring and axis bar are held.  The spring and lower portion of the bow are missing due to a transverse break above the catch plate. Description: The brooch has a sub-circular frame in plan and is circular in cross section and appears to be undecorated. There is one globular knob remaining, the probable other knob and the pin are lost. There is an overall green and brown patina with corrosion patches to the frame.  Measurements: Diameter: 42.29mm; Width of Hoop: 9.08mm (At Widest Point); Width (Below Knob): 5.92mm; Knob Diameter: 9.86mm; Weight: 33.58g.

Description The historic break is across the coil and wings, leaving residual fragments. the rearhook survies as a small stub. The bow is very thin and arched creating a comma shape and is circular in cross-section and tapers to a pointed. The lower 14.45mm is bent over at a right ange to the cross bar. It has light blue/green corrosion on all surfaces. Measurements- length: 66.39mm, diameter: 4.44mm, weight: 4.62g.
