Copper alloy strap-end, probably early-medieval to medieval in date (c AD 1050-1250). The buckle has a rectangular frame with a knop protrusion at one end and a bar strap at the other with rounded ends. The frame has a set of four openwork holes and two small pellets. The object is quite worn and some original decoration may have been lost. It has a dark brown patina. This object was printed in The Searcher magazine for November 2001 on p. 13; the date of discovery was ameded to reflect this.

Copper alloy zoomorphic strap end, Anglo Saxon in date (c AD 800-900). The strap end is of the banded type (see Haldenby 1998, Group 17), with a narrow body tapering to a zoomorphic tip and widening at the opposing end to accommodate two rivet holes. The body has banded incised decoration. The reverse is plain and the top of the strap is bent. The object has a mid green patina.

A copper alloy Middle/ Late Early-Medieval (800-1000) strap end, Class A type 5 (Thomas 2003). The strap end is sub oval in plan with a zoomorphic terminal. The upper plate is divided into two long depressed panels with two triangles below, just above the head terminal. It has silver enamelling. There are two rivet holes at the top of the strap end. The back is plain. It has a dark green patina.

Copper alloy strap end (c AD 750-1100). The strap end is sub-rectangular in plan and is broken at the attachment end. It is a class A, type 1 Trewhiddle style (Thomas 2003) with a decorated panel containing a snake/serpent forming an S shape surrounded by a border. The terminal contains a zoomorphic head. There are traces of white enamel on the panel. The reverse has the remains of an iron attachment which would have been a lug or hook when complete. The object has a dark green patina. The strap end is comprised of two copper sheets rivetted together. The two rivets are still intact in the plate sheeting. The strap end appears to be undecorated and has wear/damage to the surfaces. Cast copper alloy strap end, probably medieval in date (c AD1100-1500). The strap end is tongue-shaped with a flat lower surface and slightly raised upper surface. It has a split attachment end with one rivet in tact holding a lose section of the front plate section in place. There are two more holes for rivets on either side of the intact rivet. The face of the strap end has the remains of a relief interlace pattern but is very worn.

Cast copper alloy strap end, early medieval in date (c AD800-1000). The strap end is tongue-shaped and is a Class E Thomas type, very similar to type 3, though without the distinctive median rib which defines this type. The strap has a split attachment end with the remains of a rivet or attachment mark on the very top of the back of the plate. The strap end narrows very gradually to a rounded terminal. Complete copper alloy cast strap end, medieval in date (c AD1250-1400). The strap end consists of two sheets of copper joined together by a small rivet, still intact at the top of the strap end. The strap end is sub rectangular in plan, with a decorative terminal. The terminal is shouldered, with an oval shape topped with a trefoil. The neck of the terminal is snapped on one side of the strap end. The main body of the strap end is bent. A small rivet survives through the terminal end. The body of the strap end is undecorated and is in fair condition with a patchy mid green patina.

The strap end is rectangular in shape and is formed from a single sheet of copper, folded over and attached together by a single rivet at the top of the strap end. At the terminal end a thin strip of copper is suspended between the folded sheeting and terminates on both sides by a semi-circular remains of a hole. The strap end has cracks in the sheeting and worn irregular edges. The object has a mid green patina.

Copper alloy cast strap end, medieval in date (c AD1200-1500). The strap end consists of a single copper sheet, folded over and has been bent inwards on both sides to form a cylinder-shaped end. On one side the sheeting is shorter and narrower with a flat squared-off end. The thicker side of the sheeting has a slightly angled straight edge. A rivet is still intact at the top of the strap end attaching the sides of the sheeting together. The strap end is undecorated. The object is in fair condition and has a dark green patina.

The strap end is rectangular in plan with curved corners and is made of two thin copper sheets with a projecting sub-oval sheet spacer at the terminal end. The plate includes an intact rivet connecting the two copper sheets. The strap end is badly corroded with fragments of the copper having flaked off and snapped at one end. The object has a patchy light green patina. Note: only one photograph was provided for this object and the appearance of the reverse side is unknown.

A worn incomplete cast copper-alloy strap end of Anglo-Saxon date. The strap end is sub-rectangular in shape, tapering towards a zoomorphic terminal in the shape of an animal head, possibly a wolf. The terminal has a flattened snout with the remains of a raised brow, eyes and raised ears. The precise form of the decoration on the body of the strap is unclear due to wear. At the attachment end are the remains of a split terminal. The object has a dark green patina.

A complete cast copper alloy sub rectangular double sheet strap end, dating to the Medieval period (AD1200-1500). The strap end consists of two pieces of sheet copper alloy metal, riveted together. The strap end is sub rectangular in plan, tapering to a narrowing neck. The base of the strap end finishes in a trefoil lobed shape. Two rivets are present at the top and bottom, which would have secured the strap end onto the original strap. Both the front and back plate are scratched and worn and it is unclear whether it was decorated. The strap end has a mid to dark green colour.

An incomplete cast copper alloy double-sheet strap end, medieval in date. A single thin sheet of copper alloy strap end forming one side of a double sheeted strap end. It is sub rectangular in plan with an angled end. At the top end remains an intact rivet pushed through a hole which would have fitted the copper sheeting to the second sheet on the other side of the belt/strap. It is undecorated and has a smooth mid green patina.
