An incomplete copper alloy late Roman gilded disc brooch (c AD 250-410). The brooch is flat in profile and oval in shape, with the raised rim of an oval central recess that would have held a central boss, possibly of glass. The upper face is decorated with a pattern of blue and red enamel. One corner of the brooch is damaged and missing. On the rear face the catch plate is still intact, as well as the hinge and part of the pin. The object has a mid green patina.

Roman copper alloy Umbonate disc brooch (c AD 100-250). The brooch is circular in form with a concave back. The central section is decorated with triangular enamel cells which contain red enamel. There are three knops around the edge of the brooch, with a hinge loop at the top. Part of the pin remains and the catch plate. The object has a dark green patina.

An incomplete copper-alloy Danish brooch dating to the medieval period (c. AD 1120-1150).
The brooch is circular with an openwork design depicting a lamb facing left, representing the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God). One of its its forelegs is crossed back to hold a cross behind. The circular border round the edge is beaded. On the rear there is the remains of an attachment loop and broken pin. Tinned. The object has a dark green patina.

An incomplete copper alloy Trumpet brooch of Roman date (c AD75-200). The brooch is D-shaped in profile with a rounded head and a worn spring to accommodate the now heavily corroded pin mechanism. The pin no longer remains. The bow is decorated with a panel of enamel; with blue enamel circles around red 'eyes' and re and yellow enamel down the bow. The pin and catch plate are both missing. The brooch is very worn. It has a mid brown patina.

Incomplete copper alloy enamelled disc brooch, probably post medieval to modern in date (c AD1600-1900). The brooch is disc-shaped and slightly domed with a concave lower face. The upper face has an intricate pattern of fleur de lis and petal shapes, inlaid with red, green and white enamels, traces of which remain. The lower face is gilded and has the remains of a spring pin and catchplate. The pin is missing. Probable stamped/pressed design.

Roman incomplete copper alloy T-shaped (developed) brooch (c AD50-160). It has thick straight wings with a cylindrical terminal containing an axis bar. The bow is D-shaped and slightly curved with a panel a paint/enamel in yellow running down the front of the bow. The foot and catchplate are missing. There is a gap at the top of the bow to accommodate a pin (now lost). The object is quite worn and corroded and has a mid green patina.

Incomplete ansate brooch, early medieval in date (c AD700-1000). The brooch is an elongated sub-rectangular shape with slightly flaring terminals and a sharply protruding arch in the centre. The terminals are C-shaped in cross-section, with closed ends and a hollow reverse. The brooch is decorated with a series of transverse grooves, with two bands on each terminal decorated instead with transverse rows of punched dots. Incomplete cast copper alloy brooch, medieval in date (c AD1250-1450). The brooch fragment is D-shaped in plan, forming part of a sub-circular annular brooch. The back of the frame is flat with two integral collets swelling out of the front of the frame. In between the collets is a thin tube-like attachment which probably held some decoration. The collets may have originally contained stones or inlaid enamel. The object is very worn and has a patchy mid green patina.

The brooch has very narrow cylindrical wings with a hollow interior to accommodate the spring mechanism, now lost. The bow has an angular D-shaped cross-section with a wide head, tapering down to a point. No remains of a foot, catch plate, or the pin exists. The brooch is in poor condition and is very worn. The object has a light green patina.

Complete cast copper alloy annular brooch, medieval in date (c AD1150-1450). The brooch consists of a circular loop with a recessed pin bar. An iron pin is wrapped around this bar and is complete, tapering to a point. The frame is decorated with engraved spiral decoration. The reverse of the frame is plain and flat. The frame has a small break. Traces of gilding. The object is in fair condition.

The head is sub-rectangular with the two sides knops intact but is missing the very top knop. The back of the head is slightly concave. An incomplete copper alloy hinged dolphin brooch (Colchester derivative), Roman in date (cAD55-100). This brooch has cylindrical wings which contains the remnants of an iron axis bar around which the pin would articulate. The pin is missing. The bow has an angular D-shaped cross-section with the suggestion of a flattened ridge running down the middle of the bow. The brooch tapers into a very fine point at the foot end and would have had a catchplate attached to the back of the brooch (now missing). The brooch is in poor condition and is very worn. The brooch has a light green patina.

A cast silver gilt rosette from trumpet brooch. Conical boss supporting a globular moulding on the tip, surrounded by 18 petals and mounted on a circular disc with a crenelated edge. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman P-Shaped crossbow brooch (AD260-410). The bow is P-shaped with hollow cylindrical wings (only one surviving). The end of the wing is broken. At the head of the brooch is an onion-shaped collared knop. The bow tapers slightly to the foot which is broken off. The catch plate and pin are missing. The brooch is damaged with pit marks to the surface and has a dark green patina.
This brooch fragment is of an early, lightweight hinged crossbow type. These are indicated as 3rd to 4th century in date.
