A round coin weight from circa 1632-1649, for a 10 shilling angel, made of brass. Round coin weights were introduced by Charles I as the new official coin weight, after he banned square weights. These types of coin weight were produced in large quantities. The obverse depicts a crown, under the crown are the letters X and S on two lines. The X is flanked by a dot on either side, the S in flanked by one dot to the left. The reverse depicts St. Michael spearing a dragon to the right.
