The obverse is worn but shows a crowned bust left with a rose behind the head. The obverse legend reads ELIZAB D G ANG FR ET HIB [REGI]. The initial mark is an 'A' confirming that the coin was minted in 1583-85. The reverse shows a square shield on a long cross fourchee dividing the legend. Reverse legend reads POSVI [DEV AD]IVTOREM MEV. Diameter: 25.18mm. Thickness: 0.53mm. Weight: 2.5g. Die axis: 7 o'clock.
