A cast copper alloy fragment probably from a stacking weight of Post Medieval date, circa AD1600-1800. The fragment would have been part of a set of circular weights which would have stacked inside each other. The fragment was broken in antiquity. The surfaces of the fragment are heavily worn due to movement in the plough soil. Part of a thickened, raised circular edge survives. A rim chart indicates that originally the weight would have had a diameter of approximately 7cm. The surviving upper and lower faces of the weight are plain and flat. Originally, the weight may have been stamp…

A cast copper alloy unidentified object. The date of the object is uncertain but it is probably Post-Medieval to Modern. The object is distorted and there is a break on one side but the damage is not new. Originally, the object would have been a flat frame creating a sub-rectangular aperture approximately 12mm x 60mm. Although the frame is quite narrow it has a protruding knop to one side. Originally, the object would have had a maximum length and width of approximately 92mm x 27mm. A cast copper alloy thimble of late Post Medieval date, circa 1650 - 1800AD. At first glance this would appear to be an open topped thimble. However, the uneven top edge of the thimble suggests that this is a closed thimble with the top missing due to old damage. The base rim is ragged and misshaped. The base is slightly squashed and is sub-oval in plan view. The sides of the thimble taper towards the top. The top edge of the thimble is cracked and squashed to one side, making it D-shaped in plan view. The maximum diameter of the top of the thimble is 16.97mm. The surface of the thimb…
