The butt end of the axehead has a circular drilled hole with an approximate diameter of 3.1mm. The square-sectioned terminal has an incised 'I'. An incomplete copper alloy posnet handle of Medieval date, circa AD1250-1600. Posnets were a common Medieval cooking vessel resembling a small cauldron with long handles instead of lugs. The handle fragment is sub-rectangular in plan with its widest point at the broken edge and gradually narrowing to the attachment end.
