A clipped, silver penny of Charles I (1625-1649). The penny is worn but the depiction of a bust on the obverse and an oval shield on the reverse indicate the coin belongs to North no's 2263 - 2266. The initial mark is not discernable but would either be a rose or a plume indicating that the coin was produced from 1630-1632. The coin was produced at the Tower Mint.
