A complete cast copper alloy annular brooch dating to the Medieval period, circa AD 1200-1500. The brooch is circular in plan. The brooch frame is flat on both sides creating a sub rectangular section. The brooch frame has a recessed area accommodating one end of the pin which is wrapped around the frame. A copper alloy impersonal Medieval seal matrix dating from circa AD 1300-1400. This is a pyramid type matrix with a circular base and hexagonal sectioned stem. The engraved die has a central device of two busts facing each other in profile. The faces are divided by a long-stemmed plant which emanates from a heart-shaped form at the bottom of the device and terminates in a four-leaf flower above the busts. The ring is a even band with a sub rectangular section. The remains of a floral moulded decoration survives on the outside of the ring, but it is indiscernible due to wear. A fragment of a cast copper alloy (bronze) axe most probably from a palstave of Middle Bronze Age date, circa 1500-1150 BC. The blade is broken below the stop ridge and there is no evidence to suggest whether this fragment is from a looped - or unlooped palstave variant. The break is worn and patinated suggesting that it has been damaged in antiquity; only the lower blade of the axehead survives. A casting error is present on one flange. A complete silver milled sixpence of William III (1694-1702). The coin is dated 1697. Mint not known. The obverse shows a laureate and draped bust facing right. Obverse legend reads GVLIELMVS III DEI GRA. The reverse shows a central circle containing the lion of Nassau with four shields arranged around which together form a cruciform shape. The handle fragment is sub-rectangular in plan with its widest point at the broken edge and gradually narrowing to the attachment end. The figurine is of an integrally cast horse and rider with a casting sprue present on the back of the rider. The head of the rider, the horse's tail and all four of the lower legs of the horse are missing due to old breaks. An incomplete copper-alloy girdle-hanger, of early Anglo-Saxon date (c. AD 450 to c. AD 570)
The artefact is made from a copper-alloy sheet which has been cut to shape; it is flat (although a little irregular) and 'T'-shaped. The base is longer on the outside than the inside, resulting in sharply angled corners. The shaft is straight, with worn rounded breaks; old breaks are present on the inside edge of the cross bar, preserving tiny stubs of the wards. Both faces are undecorated. The surface of the artefact has an uneven, mid green patina.
