The obverse shows a crowned bust facing left with 2 pellets behind the head. Obverse legend reads E D G ROSA [SINE SPI]NA. The reverse legend reads CIVITAS [LONDO]N. The reverse shows a square shield on a cross fourchee. Diameter: 15.37mm. Thickness: 0.43mm. Weight: 0.6g. Die axis: 6 o'clock. North no: 2016.

The initial mark only partially survives, but is possibly a plain cross or a sword which dates the coin to 1578-1583. The mint is London. The obverse shows a crowned bust facing left. Obverse legend reads E [D G RO]SA SIN[E SP]INA. The reverse legend reads [CIVITAS] LOND[ON]. The reverse shows a square shield on a long cross fourchee dividing the legend. Diameter: 12.79mm. Thickness: 0.44mm. Weight: Die axis: 7 o'clock. North no: 2001
