An incomplete hammered copper alloy Post Medieval jetton, circa AD1500-1585. The jetton is ragged around the edges with approximately 90-95% of the jetton surviving. Classified by Mitchener as a 'Normal Orb' jetton comparable to nos 1285-1286c (Mitchener: 1998). A rose/orb jetton struck in Nuremberg, Germany. Legends illegible due to damage. Obverse shows three crowns alternating with three fleur de lis arranged centrifugally around a five-petalled rose. A hammered copper alloy Shield of France jetton dating to the Medieval period, circa AD1417-1497. Made in Tournai. Recorded in Mitchener:1998, page 217, no 626. The obverse shows a shield containing three lis with an annulet above. Obverse legend: +AMOUR AVE MARIA AR (rosette stops). The reverse shows a triple standard straight cross feuretty in 4-arched tressure. Diameter: 28.94mm. Thickness: 1.25mm. Weight: 4.8g.

A complete, late Medieval, copper-alloy French jetton, probably a stock jetton from the mint at Tournai, of the 'Shield of France' type, dating from 1400-1500AD. Very worn condition. Three lis just discernable on the obverse, but the design is otherwise unclear. Obverse legend illegible. Reverse shows triple standard straight cross fleuretty in 4-arched tressure. The rest of the reverse design is not discernable but there does not appear to be a reverse legend. Die axis is uncertain. Diameter: 26.79mm. Thickness: 1.28mm. Weight: 4.88g. A copper alloy Post Medieval 'Rose and Orb' Nuremberg Jetton. Struck by Hans Kravwinckel II. Master from 1586. Died 1635. Obverse comprises of three Crowns alternately between three Lis arranged centrifugally around a central Rose of 8 oval petals. Obverse legend reads HANS KRAVWINCKEL IN NVR. Reverse comprises of a reichsapfel within an angled trilobe. Reverse legend reads GOTES SEGEN MACHT REIGHT. Jetton is in poor condition. Diameter: 20.95mm. Thickness: 0.59mm. Weight: 0.60g. Reference: Mitchiner 1568. Die axis is 12 o'clock.
