A clipped, hammered Post Medieval silver coin. The obverse and the reverse legend have been removed and the obverse has been completely defaced. The reverse depicts a long cross fourchee over a royal shield. From the size of the coin it has been identified as an Edward VI (1547-1553) sixpence from the fine silver coinage of the Third Period (1550-1553). North 1938-1939. Mint not known. Die axis not known. Diameter: 20.54mm. Thickness: 0.55mm. Weight: 0.91g.
