A tertiary worked flint probably dating to the late Neolithic period, circa 2700-2350BC. Identified by Peter Reavil as a thumbnail / side-end scraper formed from the snapped end of a long blade. The scraper is complete. The dorsal and ventral sides of the scraper are light, milky grey in colour. An opaque, white patinated surface survives which was probably exposed while the rest of the flint remained below soil. The dorsal side of the scraper has been heavily re-worked in multiple directions with some conchoidal ripple marks clearly visible. Evidence of scaled and sub-parallel retouching present on all 3 edges of the scraper. The ventral side of the scraper is completely unworked with a pronounced bowl of percussion present. The ventral surface is smooth and shiny with very faint conchoidal fractures just visible.

A cast copper alloy strap fitting (belt mount or belt stiffener) dating to the Post Medieval period, circa AD 1600-1700. One attachment spike is partially missing but the strap fitting is otherwise complete. The strap fitting is a simplistic representation of an acorn in a cup. In plan, the strap fitting is sub oval, with a rounder bottom half which has an integral knop and a more pointed upper half. The plate of the strap fitting is sub rectangular in section with two attachment spikes protruding from the reverse. The face of the strap fitting has moulded decoration with grooved cross hatching lines representing the acorn cup. The edge of the cup is represented by two traverse parallel grooves creating a raised bar. The surface of the acorn may also originally have had a moulded surface decoration, but this is uncertain due to wear. The reverse of the strap fitting is plain and undecorated. A bent, integrally cast attachment spike is present near the centre of the reverse. The spike has a sub circular cross section and terminates in a rounded point. The stub of a second attachment spike survives to the central base of the acorn cup on the reverse. These spikes would have passed through the strap leather in order to hold the fitting in place. The surface of the strap fitting is heavily abraded due to movement in the plough soil. The surface is a matte red/brown colour. The length of the strap fitting is 35.48mm. The width is 15.05mm. Thickness of the plate is 1.34mm which increases to 5.28mm when including the attachment spike. Weight is 2.46g.
A similar mount is recorded in Read, 2001, p29, fig 334. A mount with a similar form, although much more decorated, is recorded on this database; NMS-AC7347.
