A complete silver hammered groat of Edward III (1327-77). The coin is wowrn but tentatively identified as belonging to the Fourth Coinage (1351-1361) from the initial mark described by North as a 'Cross 1'. Mint is London. The obverse shows a forward facing crowned bust in a tressure of arches. Obverse legend: [EDWARD DG REX ANGL Z FRANC D HYB]. The reverse shows a long cross pattee dividing legends, three pellets in each quarter. Reverse legends: POSVI ADIVTOREM MEVM and CIVITAS LONDON. Diameter: 26.5mm. Thickness: 0.92mm. Weight: 4.2g. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman disc brooch, circa AD200-400. The central setting and hinged pin are missing. The remains of a catchplate survive on the reverse and the edges of the brooch are ragged. The damage is not new. A residue of gilt survives on the front of the brooch. Fragment of a cast copper alloy socketed late Bronze Age axehead, circa 800-1100BC. The axehead dates to the Wilburton or Ewart Park phases. The lower blade and cutting edge survive with a shallow hollow indicating the terminal of the socket. The breaks are antiquarian. The fragment is trapezoidal in plan view with rounded edges, and sub triangular in section. The cutting edge is curved and the sides of the lower blade are slightly flared. Only a small fragment from the rim survives. Two moulded bands traverse the fragment which delineate the rim from the body of the bell.
