An incomplete, cast, copper-alloy Post-Medieval mount or strap fitting, circa 17th century. In plan view, the mount is trefoil-shaped at one end and rounded at the opposing end. There is an incised V-shaped decorative groove delineating each of the foliate forms which is also suggestive of a heart shape. The mount is flat on both the front and reverse creating a rectangular cross section. The reverse of the mount is plain. A complete, cast, copper-alloy Post Medieval mount or strap fitting, circa 17th century. The mount is a representation of an acorn in a cup. The main body of the mount is sub triangular, or tear-drop, in plan. The wider end has a stem with a blunt triangular terminal at a 90 degree angle. The front is decorated with two parallel incised lines across the middle of the mount. The front of the mount is convex with a flat reverse creating a D-shaped cross section. Description: An incomplete cast gilded silver mount of Anglo-Saxon date in the form of a stylised animal head. The head has a high domed brow, divided into two fields by a raised line. Within each field is an eye formed from a round pellet attached to a comma-shaped field outlined by an incised line and ending in a downward-spiralling scroll which may represent an ear. In front of the eyes is a low broad semi-circular snout.
