An incomplete moulded Medieval ceramic floor tile, circa 1200-1400 AD. A 'two colour' floor tile, usually found in relatively high status buildings. The floor tile would have originally been rectangular but the top right corner and bottom side of the tile is missing due to old breaks. The front and the back of the tile is flat with sides sloping slightly inwards towards the reverse, resulting in the face of the tile being larger than the back. An incomplete fragment of a clay tobacco pipe bowl dating to the late Post Medieval period, circa 1680-1720. The pipe bowl is comparable to David Atkinson's Broseley Type 5A (Atkinson:1975, p25, fig 1). The overall shape of the bowl is elongated with a gradual widening from the base of the bowl to the tip. The bowl has a flat heel although less than half of the heel survives due to old breaks. The heel was probably originally circular. An incomplete fragment of a clay tobacco pipe bowl with stem dating to the late Post Medieval period, circa 1630-1640. The pipe bowl is comparable to David Atkinson's Broseley Type 1A (Atkinson:1975, p24, fig 1). The overall shape of the bowl is elongated with a bulge at the centre. The bowl has an oval flat heel which is unmarked. The rim of the pipe bowl has a single line of rouletting and evidence of bottering (smoothing of the rim). The pipe bowl is comparable to David Atkinson's Broseley Type 1B (Atkinson:1975, p24, fig 1). The overall shape of the bowl is elongated with a bulge at the centre. The bowl has a circular flat heel with a stamped initial mark. The initial mark is circular with lines radiating from the centre.
