A complete cast copper alloy key of Medieval date circa AD1150-1400. It is suggested in Egan: 1998 p111 that in general smaller, hollow keys are more likely to have been used for a casket or chest. In plan, the bow is sub circular or lozenge-shaped with a punched, off-centre circular hole. The diameter of the hole is approximately 3.8mm. The shank is attached to the bow at mid point.
