A milled silver shilling of Charles II (1660-1685). The coin was minted in 1663. Mint not known. The obverse shows a laureate bust facing right. The obverse legend reads CAROLVS II DEI GRATIA. The reverse shows the shields of England, Scotland, France and Ireland in a cruciform with interlocking Cs at each angle. The reverse legend reads MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX with 1663 at the beginning of the legend.
Diameter: 24.83mm. Thickness: 1.49mm. Weight: 5.6g. Die axis: 6 o'clock.
