A complete late Medieval to early Post Medieval floor tile, circa AD1200-1400. The tile is square in plan and rectangular in section. The face of the tile has shallow chips on the top and bottom edges and some abrasion to parts of the raised moulding, a large chip is present on the reverse. Overall the tile is in good condition. The face of the tile has a raised moulded decoration covered with a brown/green translucent glaze which in places has dripped down the sides. A complete struck copper alloy barbarous Roman radiate of uncertain emperor. The coin dates from AD260-296 (Reece Periods 13-14). The reverse is heavily abraded but this is a possible copy of Virtus, soldier standing right with spear and shield. Mint not known. The obverse shows a radiate bust facing right. The obverse legend is illegible. Diameter: 15.91mm. Thickness: 2.21mm. Weight: 2.2g. Die axis: 12 o'clock.
