The obverse legend reads CAROLV D G [MA] BRI. Mint mark not discernable. The reverse shows a single rose surmounted by a single arched crown. The reverse legend reads FRA ET HI REX. This is a Rose Type 2, North no 2291. Die axis: 12 o'clock. Diameter: 14.11mm. Thickness: 0.97mm. Weight: 0.74g

A worn copper-alloy rose farthing of Charles I (1625-1649) with a section of the coin's edge missing, dating from 1636-1649. Mint mark is not discernable. Obverse is too corroded to identify. A single rose is just discernable on the reverse. This is either a Rose Type 2 or 3, North no's 2291-2293. Die axis not known, weight is 0.55g, diameter is 12.42mm, thickness is 0.86mm.
