A complete ceramic bead probably dating to the Roman period, circa AD50-400. The bead is broadly spherical with both sides flattening around the perforation. The bead is an even light yellow / white colour. It has a centrally located longitudinal perforation with parallel sides. The perforation has an approximate diameter of 3.2mm. The bead is in good condition with some surface scratches and 1 small chip near the perforation, probably caused by movement in the plough soil.
