A copper alloy impersonal Medieval seal matrix dating from circa AD 1300-1400. This is a pyramid type matrix with a circular base and hexagonal sectioned stem. The engraved die has a central device of two busts facing each other in profile. The faces are divided by a long-stemmed plant which emanates from a heart-shaped form at the bottom of the device and terminates in a four-leaf flower above the busts. The ring is a even band with a sub rectangular section. The remains of a floral moulded decoration survives on the outside of the ring, but it is indiscernible due to wear. Each lug bears 3 moulded radial grooves creating a trefoil projection. The harness pendant has an irregular section. At the centre of the pendant is a red enamel cross pattee. The slightly uneven surface surrounding the cross suggests that more enamelling existed but has not survived. A probable vessel repair (pot mend) made of cast copper alloy. The date is uncertain but probably dates from the Medieval to Post Medieval period, circa 1450 to 1650. The repair does not have any remnants of the pottery and so the date cannot be refined further. The repair comprises of a thin disk (maximum diameter 13.68mm) with an attached shaft. The repair has a green/light brown patina. There are patches of white chalk residue on the repair. Dimensions: 23.58mm x 12.87mm x 6.10mm. Weight: 4.38g.

A lead alloy seal matrix of 13th-century date. It is complete, but surface cracks on the rear face indicate that the now flat seal had previously been folded across the middle. The seal matrix is a pointed oval shape with an integrally cast, rounded lug on the reverse. The lug is set on a moulded central rib on the longitudinal axis of the reverse. An attempt has been made to pierce the lug on one side, but the lug is not completely perforated.
