An incomplete, very worn and damaged silver Medieval penny of Edward IV, first reign, heavy coinage (1461-5), class 4, minted at Durham (North 1544). The lettering and much of the bust of this coin are now indiscernible as a result of the extensive wear and clipping on both faces. However, a worn probable rose is visible at the centre of the long cross on the reverse.

An extremely worn and clipped silver Medieval penny of probable 15th century date, Durham mint. This coin is a probable episcopal mint, as a 'D' features within the centre of the long cross on the reverse, and so possibly represents Lawrence Booth, William Dudley or John Sherwood, dating from c. AD 1457-1494 (as in North p.213).
