Copper alloy pin of Middle Anglo-Saxon date, c. mid 7th to mid 9th century
The pin is fragmentary, broken across the shaft (and has a surviving lengthy of 33.3mm and a weight of 2.3g). The head is of polyhedral form, and is of faceted-globular shape (with a width of 7.6mm - 8.4mm and a height of 7.5mm). The head is decorated with punched ring-and-dot motif, somewhat irregularly arranged. At the base of the head is a collar moulding. The shaft is circular sectioned (1.8mm - 2.0mm diameter). The surface has a dark-green patina.

The harness mount is fragmentary represented by one loop and the arm only (with a surviving length of 39.1mm and a weight of 15.6g). The loop is D-shaped (with an external length of 21.8mm, a width of 16.1mm and thickness of 6.2mm and an internal length of 14.9mm and width of 9.2mm). Early Medieval copper alloy pin terminal from a brooch, probably of penannular or pseudo-penannular type and of 8th or 9th century date
The pin is fragmentary and is represented by the head only (with a surviving length of 20.0mm, a maximum surviving width of 17.2mm, and a weight of 3.3g). Early Medieval copper alloy harness fitting probably of 11th century date
The harness mount is fragmentary represented by one broken loop only (with a surviving length of 20.6mm and a weight of 3.9g). The loop would have been of sub-lozenge form with knops on the three corners (giving a maximum width of 28.9mm). The face is convex (giving a maximum thickness of 5.2mm) and an incised border is discernible near the edge. The opening for the strap is rectangular (12.9mm wide) and the underside is hollowed. The fitting has lost the original surface and is now dark brown.

The sub-triangular mount is near-complete missing the apex (with a surviving height of 46.3mm, a maximum width of 30.9mm and a weight of 22.0g) and belongs to Williams' (1997, p 58-69) Class A, Type 11A mounts. The mount is complete but worn (with a height of 42.9mm, a width of 28.3mm and a weight of 9.1g) and belongs to Williams' (1997) Class A, Type 8 mounts. Mounts of this type of sub-triangular form and this example is somewhat irregular in shape. The terminal is worn but would have depicted a beasts head.
