Copper alloy bell, probably of post medieval date, c. 18th century
The bell is near complete, missing the clapper with some damage around the top (with a length of 58mm and a weight of 80.9g). The integral rectangular loop is irregular (13mm tall, 14.4mm wide and 6.5m thick); enclosing an oval perforation (8.3mm long and 5.6mm wide). The apex of the loop on one side is heavily worn with a concave facet. The top of the bell has two circular perforations (3.6mm and 3.9mm diameter) surrounded by iron corrosion, presumably where a wire was attached to the missing clanger. The other side…

Roman copper alloy bow brooch of Trumpet type and of 1st or 2nd century AD date
The brooch is fragmentary and represented by the upper bow and top of the leg only (with a surviving length of 36.3mm, a depth of 15.4mm and a weight of 10.8g). The missing spring was secured around a central perforated lug, the stubs of which are still present. The trumpet head is corroded and worn but appears to have been of sub-oval to sub-triangular form (with a width of 12.9mm and a depth of 13.2mm). Little of the original surface survives but a punched-dot border is evident on one side. The side…

The brooch is comparatively small, heavily worn and is missing the spring and setting (with a surviving length of 18.9mm, a surviving width of 12.9mm and a weight of 1.6g). The brooch probably employed a spring mechanism, secured around a single pierced lug. The lug and catch-plate survive as stubs on the rear (the eroded catch-plate gives the brooch a maximum surviving depth of 4.8mm).
