The pottery sherd is a neck fragment from a large salt-glazed stoneware jug of Bartmann (or Beaded-Man) type, sometimes referred to as Bellarmine jugs. The fragment comprises the circular mouth (with a diameter of 56.1mm and an internal diameter of 35.7mm), the neck and handle, and has broken above the globular body (with a surviving height of 126mm, a maximum surviving width of 101.7mm, a surviving depth of 142.4mm and a weight of 436.1g). Modern copper alloy (probably brass) manilla of probable early 19th century date and of type 'Okpoho'
The manilla is in the form of a small penannular arm ring comprising a circular-sectioned oval ring (external dimensions: 67.1mm high x 66.7mm wide) of standard thickness (6.6mm diameter) and with a weight of 67.0g. The terminals are sub oval-shaped (22.8mm x 19.6mm) with flat undersides. A rounded ridge runs from the ring to the base of the terminal. There is no decoration on the manilla. The surface has a dark-green patina with areas of pale yellow corosion.

The matrix is near complete, missing the top of the handle (with a surviving height of 14.8mm and a weight of 6.6g). The handle or suspension loop was oval (with a surviving width of 14.3mm and a thickness of 5.5mm). Lead pan weight of uncertain date, possibly medieval
The weight is sub-circular (with a diameter of 31.9mm - 33.3mm) and of rectangular section (with a thickness of 8.2mm). There is the suggestion of a lip around the top face but no decoration is discernible on the weight. The weight weighs 58.2g which equates to 2.053ounces.
The weight closely corresponds to a 2 ounce weight (allowing for slight corrosion) of the medieval mercantile system (in use pre-1300) and the Tower System in use from 1250 both of which equate to 1.993 ounces.
