Roman copper alloy coin. A contemporary cast copy, probably of a dupondius, probably of Hadrian (AD 117-38) (Reece Period 6), Fortuna seated left. Prototype Mint of Rome. Without an image, the National Finds Adviser cannot comment more, except to say that cast copies of asses with Fortuna seated left were found in the Bath Spring (Walker 1988, plate XXXII, nos. 22-27).

Roman copper alloy coin. A cast contemporary copy of an as of Hadrian (AD 117-38), prototype dating to AD 119 (Reece Period 6). Reverse probably: BRITANNIA (in exergue), PONT MAX TR POT COS III S C, Britannia seated left. Prototype Mint of Rome. RIC II, p. 412, cf. no. 577. A number of cast coins of this type were found in the Sacred Spring at Bath - Walker 1988, p. 292 and XXXII, cf. nos. 14-21. Walker suggests a local 'Casting Mint'. This record is reconstructed from a skeleton outline.
