County: Monmouthshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Prehistoric flint retouched flake, probably of Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date
The flake is complete (with a length of 25.1mm, a width of 21.8mm, a thickness of 6.4mm and a weight of 2.6g). The retouch is neatly worked on a small distal area of one side (9mm long), with an area of utilisation on the proximal part of the same side. Both the retouch and utilisation are on the ventral surface of the flake. The dorsal surface displays evidence of core-preparation abutting the striking platform. The flake is made on grey, unpatinated flint.

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Prehistoric flint end-scraper, probably of Neolithic date
The scraper is made on a piece of cortical grey and unpatinated flint. The retouch has been skilfully applied to the curved distal edge. The character of the flint and cortex suggests chalk-land flint.

Prehistoric flint retouched and notched flake, probably of Neolithic date
The implement is made on yellow-brown cortical flint and is unpatinated. The flake is retouched along the distal end, with comparatively steep retouch, suggesting a scraper edge. The flake has also been notched on one side of the striking platform.

Prehistoric flint blade
The blade is made on cortical grey and unpatinated flint. Some evidence of core preparation and possibly a core-rejuvenation piece. The cortex is confined to one side near the distal end and suggests the flint is derived from the chalklands.
