Iron Age pottery sherd, probably of Middle to late Iron Age, c. 3rd century BC to 1st century AD
The fragment is an abraded body sherd (29mm long, 27mm wide and with a weight of 5.9g) from a straight-sided and thin-walled (5.5mm) vessel. The sherd thins at one end, possibly indicating the base of the neck of the vessel. The fabric is tempered with shell and limestone, with rounded quartz and occasional grog inclusions.
