Roman copper / lead alloy finger-ring, possibly of 3rd century date The ring is circular (with a diameter of 26.1mm, internal: 20.3mm and a weight of 3.8g. The hoop is circular sectioned (with a diameter of 2.3mm to 3.1mm). The shoulders are grooved before a moulded bezel, comprising a central rib, faceted on each side. The sides of the bezel have a rounded notch, flanked by grooves defining slight flanges at the ends of the bezel. The ring is green-grey colour, with patches of grey-brown possibly suggesting a lead-rich alloy.
