A cast copper-alloy lid from a hinged seal box of Roman date. It is lozenge-shaped with raised edges and two central concentric circles filled with red enamel. The lug, which would have been attached to the base of the box projects from the top corner. A small rounded decorative lug projects from the bottom corner. This has a recess on the front, which contains a trace of orange enamel, and a small central projection on the back which would have been used to keep the lid in the correct position in relation to the base of the box. Cast copper alloy probable clock or watch key dating to the post medieval-modern period. The key has a oval shaped bow, which is rectangular in section. Its shaft is also rectangular in section with a flat edges, and tapers inwards to a point. There are grooves either side of the edges near the end of the shaft. An incomplete cast copper alloy trumpet deriviate brooch of Roman date; c. AD 75-175. The spring mechanism, pin and foot are missing and only a fragment of the catchplate remain. A simple collar moulding separates the head from the bow. A dark brown/green patina is visible on all surfaces. The lenght is 35mm and thickness is 12mm.
