A base sherd fragment from a Roman Samian Ware dish or small bowl dating to AD 50 - 200. The sherd has a chamfered foot ring base. The fragment has a orange/red fabric and is coated in a slightly darker slip on both the inside and outside. It is likely to be of Central or East Gaulish manufacture. Measurments:- Diameter 49.93mm , Height 19.95mm, Weight 35.6g

An incomplete cast lead and iron steelyard weight of probable Roman date, c. 43-410 AD. It is biconical in form and circular in section, with holes at both ends with the remains of an iron suspension loop within one end. Preserved in fair condition with an even grey patina. Measurements - 39.75mm high, 32.88mm in diameter and weighs 228.4g. This steelyard weight was found in an area which has produced many Roman coins and other artefacts, including another steelyard weight ( PUBLIC-C4F629 ) and although it cannot be attributed without any doubt to this period most examples of th…
