A cast, copper-alloy, double-loop, decorative, rectangular buckle c.1450-1600AD. The frame is incised with single oblique lines on two of the edges and groups of oblique lines on the other two edges. These lines sit within an engraved linear border that goes around the full frame of the buckle. The pin is missing. The bar has a longitudinal line incised on it on the reverse. The edges are bevelled. 43.1mm long, 45.4mm wide, 3.0mm thick and weighs 23.70g. A similar item can be seen in Whitehead p.78 no.479. A cast, copper-alloy, double-loop, asymmedtrical buckle with central pin bar c.1350-1700AD. The outer edge of the rectangular lopp is slightly scalloped to produce a trefoil effect. There is a notch for the pin (missing). 24.3mm long, 16.7mm wide, 1.2mm thick and 1.80g in weight.

A Medieval, cast, copper-alloy, casket key c.1150-1400AD. The circular bow has flattened sides and is broken at one end. The stem is flattened-oval in section with the tip being hollow at the bit end. The bit is a wide T shape. 37.9mm in legth, 4.8mm wide, 4.1mm thick and weighs 4.40g. A similar item can been seen in the datatbase - BH-EFF950. Several examples of casket keys were found in excavations in Winchester (Biddle 1990) in layers dating from the 12th to 14th centuries.

A cast, copper-alloy double-loop rectangular buckle with moulded decoration on the loops c.1550-1650AD. Bevelled edges. Moulded transverse ridge on the oute edge of each loop. Iron pin remains as does most of the folded sheet, cast, copper-alloy plate. The plate is broken after the rivet hole. 27.0mm long, 24.4mm wide, 2.0mm thick and weighs 6.1g. Plate is 14.8mm wide and 1.2mm thick.

A copper-alloy buckle plate, probably medieval, c.1250-1500 AD, made from a piece of sheet folded in half. A single copper-alloy rivet at one end of the plate would have held the strap in place. Pin slot and frame recesses form two hinge loops at the folded edge. No decoration. 22.9mm long, 16.3mm wide, 0.7mm thick and weighs 3.40g. A similar plate can be seen in Whitehead p.13-14 no.s 30 and 47.

A fragment of a Roman, cast copper-alloy cosmetic mortar, typically dating from the Late Iron Age to the Early Roman period c.200BC -200AD. The mortar has a plain, relatively shallowed bowed profile, with a broken, suspension loop situated in the centre. One end finishes in a knop. The other end of the mortar is missing. The mortar has a shallow U shaped cross section. In plan, it is broadly ellipitical in shape. The interior (grinding surface) is smooth. A cast, copper alloy, trapezoidal, decorative shoe buckle with drilled frame for separate spindle c.1690-1720AD. The loop chape (broken) has a single, integral spike. There are decorative knops over each spindle hole. These have swirl designs on either side of the knops. The swirls are repeated at the centre of the other sides of the frame. The frame edges are bevelled all round and the frame is angled from the spindle.

A Post Medieval, cast, copper alloy book clasp. Of rectangular plan with straight edges, a fishtail flare at one end and an integral hook at the other. It would have been used to secure book bindings.The flared end is decorated with incised, radiating lines with three stamped, decorative holes next to two rivets. There is a hole in the centre of the clasp which is surrounded by a worn design of concentric circles (ring and dot motif). Probably a Post-Medieval, cast, copper-alloy Nuremberg 'rose and orb' jetton of the 16th century. Poor condition. The obverse is more visible with three crowns and three lys arranged alternatively around a central rose. The reverse probably has the Reichsapfel in a double tressure of three curves and three angles, each point being flanked by a pellet. Diameter of 25.2mm, thickness of 0.6mm and weight of 1.72g. Obverse legend - V:LE. Reverse legend - ROE / _EBVBI:_E. Nonsense legends suggest it is an annoymous issue struck between c.1500 - 1550 (Mitchiner, 1988, p.377).

Length of 26.8mm, width of 17.2mm, thickness of 3.6mm and weighs 6.9g. Tokens had a variety of uses, were made locally and are difficult to date closely.
