Object type: UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT
Broad period: ROMAN
County: North Yorkshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An unidentified lead object probably dating to the Roman period.
The object is sub-circular in plan and conical. On the flattened side there is raised decoration and this appears to be inspired by Roman coins. There is a draped and laureate/diademed bust right and some letters around the bust. Much of the legend is unclear however some letters are legible and read N O... This object is unlikely to be a coin mould as it would create coins with the bust and lettering in relief.
