Incomplete, cast, copper-alloy one piece Colchester brooch of the late Iron Age to early Roman period, c. 25-60 AD.The brooch has a subtriangular head, short wings and merges into a tapering bow. There is no footknob. The base of the bow retains the base of the catchplate, now lost.The pin is missing, but it would have been a sprung pin cast integral with the rest of the brooch. Bends along the bow have distorted the shape of the brooch.

A cast copper-alloy statuette or figurine fragment in classical tradition of Roman date. The naturalistic foot and calf of the figuring remain, with an extension off the inside ball of the foot indicating attachment to a now missing base or a casting error. The foot is only slightly extended from the upright leg, and neither leg nor foot bear any clothing or footwear. A gold finger ring, inset with three stones. The ring has an oval bezel comprising a translucent purple glass gem in a rubbed-over box-setting. The bifurcated shoulders feature a simple stylised openwork floral design consisting of a tiny glass gem of uncertain colour in a sub-circular setting, representing the flower head, below which is a pair of leaves on a stem. A copper alloy dolphin or Polden Hill brooch dating to the Roman period and probably to 75-175 AD. The object has a sub-rectangular head which has been rounded by wear. The head is concave and would have held a spring mechanism. The bow arches up and away from the head of the brooch before curving downwards and back whilst tapering to a point. There is a raised line which runs the length of the bow. The catchplate and pin are both missing. Similar objects have been recorded on the PAS database, see GLO-DC6FB6 and DUR-11CE71.

A cast copper alloy flanged axe with continuous raised flanges and stop-ridge central rib. The axe dates to the Middle Bronze Age (1500 to 1150 BC) and weighs 165 g and is 119 mm long. The blade of the axe is sub-triangular in plan with convex expanding sides and a convex cutting edge. In profile the blade is sub-triangular with the widest section before the stop ridge. A complete copper alloy nail cleaner with a swollen blade dating to the Roman period. The suspension loop is 11.72 mm in diameter and half of it is thicker which is where it would have been suspended. The loop narrows and then flares outwards again to create a leaf shape blade. The loop and blade are on the same plane. The blade in turn then tapers and bifurcates at the end. There is a central groove stemming from the bifurcation. There is no decoration on the object. Medieval dress fitting of three silver coins. The object is circular in plan and the front of the fitting shows the reverse of a coin. In the centre of the coin is a short cross and in one of the quarters there is a single pellet. The legend is very worn making it difficult to read although it is possible to see the letters DRI. In the section of the fitting it is possible to see three coins and the back of the fitting possibly also shows the reverse of a coin. A complete button and loop fastener of Wild Class III (Wild 1970, 138-9) dating to the late first century or the second century AD. The main part of the button and loop fastener is a tear-drop shaped plate with a central raised circle with a groove running around its circumference. The back of this plate is flat and undecorated. From the wider end a shaft projects and then bends at a 90 degree angle to create a triangular attachment on the same plane as the plate.

A copper-alloy stud of possibly of Roman date. The stud consists of twelve tear-shaped petals with incised lines between each one which form a domed flower shape at the front of the stud. The back is undecorated and features an integrally cast projection with a circular section although the end of this has broken off. There is a similar example in Crummy 1983: 132-3, figure 151, number 4205 and also on the PAS database: SWYOR-707A77.
