The base of a copper alloy seal box dating to the Roman period, c. AD 100 to 300. The object is tear-drop shaped in plan and flat with outwardly bent edges. There is a projection from the middle of the curve which would have formed the hinge attaching the base of the object to decorated top. From the point of the tear-drop is a sub-spherical knop. A copper alloy sword scabbard chape dating from the late medieval period to the early post-medieval, c. AD 1450 to 1600. The chape is sub-triangular in plan with two longer, outwardly curving sides and two semi-circular notches cut out of the shorter, third side creating an openwork, crenellated effect. A lead ampulla probably dating to the medieval period, c. AD 1350 to 1550. The object has a rounded body and a broad neck and has been flattened, probably through depositional activity. Both handles or suspension loops are broken away and missing. There is some evidence of a decorative motif on one side of the object in the form of cross hatching however it is unclear what this is meant to represent. A complete copper alloy casket key of medieval date, c. AD 1150 to 1450. The key is small with a circular cross section. The circular bow extends from one end of the stem with a circular perforation and is separated from the stem by a collar which has diagonal, incised lines across it. The opposite end of the stem tapers to a point with a bit projecting out at 90 degrees. There are two small sub-rectangular clefts and another cleft in the shape of a trefoil. Similar objects are reccorded on the PAS database, see for example YORYM-FF0C01.
