A body sherd of a green glazed vessel dating to the medieval period. The sherd is triangular in plan with one side glazed in a speckled green colour and the other side unglazed. The fabric is grey in colour, turning orange towards the outer unglazed edge.

A copper alloy handle of a patera dating to the Roman period. The object is sub-rectangular in plan and widens slightly towards one end which is also concave. On the underside there is a projecting knop which is circular in section. The top of the handle is decorated with several ring and dot motifs although it appears that some have worn away. There are several patera handles recorded on the PAS database, see KENT-11E736 and BH-2A2563 for examples. NMS-E52C90 has some circular decoration however it is smaller than in this case.

A copper alloy escutcheon dating to the medieval or early post medieval period. The object is sub-triangular in plan with a rounded point. There is thickened area which runs parallel to the long side of the triangle and this has the remains of a metal vessel inside. There is a rivet through the pointed end of the triangle and there is a hole near the long side which would have acted as a suspension loop. A similar example has been recorded on the PAS database, see SWYOR-352496.

A copper alloy and lead vessel escutcheon dating to the Roman period. The object is a copper alloy sheet which is tear-drop shaped in plan although the pointed end has split and partially curled back up. At the rounded end there is an integrally cast projection which has been deliberately curled round to create a suspension loop. There is some damage to the object. The copper alloy sheet is deeply concave and the recess created has been filled with lead. The object is very similar in shape to an object recorded on the PAS database, YORYM-67F775 however a nearly identical object …

Part of a ceramic vessel handle, probably dating to the medieval period, c. 1300 to 1500. The handle is sub-rectangular in plan with a D-shaped section. There are three grooves running the length of the handle. The outer surface of the fragment is a brownish orange colour although the section shows that this is only a few millimetres deep with the internal fabric grey in colour. There is some glaze present on the surface of the object and this is again a brownish orange in colour.

A fragment of the handle of a medieval vessel, probably dating to the 15th century. The object is rectangular in plan with a slight tapering towards the bottom. The section is D-shaped and the object is slightly curved. There are four grooves running the length of the object on the front.There is green glaze on the front of the object and this is slightly mottled. There is no glaze on the back. It is likely that this vessel fragment was part of a large ceramic jug.

A base fragment of a Nene Valley cup or beaker dating to the period c. AD 150 to 250. The fragment has part of the base still present which has a diameter of 26.39 mm. The sides of the vessel rise sharply up and outwards from the base. The fabric is fine and creamy coloured with few inclusions. The slip is even and a dark brown-black in colour.

The object is rectangular in plan and rectangular in section with a prominent rib running the length of the object. The object is flat with irregular edges suggesting the foot and the point of attachment to the vessel body are missing. Vessel legs such as this one are commonly in use during the medieval period but examples are known from the 17th century.

There is a 90 degree bend in the object suggesting that this is the foot. There are irregular edges on either side of the object. This form of vessel leg was widespread in the medieval period but continued in use until the 17th century.

A fragment of a samian ware possibly from a plate and dating to the period c. AD 70 to 260. The sherd is orange in colour and displays the dark, shiney slip that is characteristic of this type of pottery. This fragment is the base sherd which has a bead edge which raises the base of the vessel away from the table surface. The inside of the base is flat with little evidence for damage to the slip.

This fragment may be part of a shallow dish or bowl, possibly a Dragendorff 18/31.

The edges and back of the object are quite uneven and rough however the front appears to be finished and undecorated. A sherd of a Roman disc-mouthed flagon. This fragment of vessel is the disc mouth of a flagon. The sherd is circular in plan with a central, circular, narrow perforation. The neck of the flagon has broken just below the mouth and only part of the handle remains. The fabric is a bright orange colour and there is some evidence for slip on the underside of the sherd. A fragment of cast copper alloy, part of a vessel handle possibly dating to the medieval period. The object is comma-shaped in profile with a clear break at the widest end. In plan the object is trapezoidal with diagonal grooves within two parallel lines. These lines run the length of the object which is where the curve visible in the section is. There is a several areas of damage around the bulbous end of the object and also a break at the thinner end suggesting a longer handle.

The cast copper alloy leg of a post medieval cooking vessel. The object is sub-rectangular in plan with a trapezoidal cross section. There are two ridges along the length of the front of the object. The back of the object is flat and undecorated. The vessel leg terminates in a simple pad-like foot although part of it has broken off. The leg has been broken mid section, rather than from the join with the cooking pot. This form of leg was commonly used on cooking pots from the medieval period through to the 17th century.
