A silver groat of Edward IV from his first reign, AD 1461 to 1470 dating to the period AD 1464 to 1470. North Number 1583.
The obverse depicts a forward facing, crowned bust within a tressure of arches. There is a quatrefoil either side of the neck and the letter E on the breast. The legend reads EDWARD DI GRA REX ANGL DNS HYB. The reverse depicts a long cross with three pellets in each angle. The inner legend reads CIVI/TAS/EBO/RACI and the outer legend reads POSVI/DEVM A/DIVTOR/E MEUM.
