The initial mark is the number 2. There is some damage to the coin and it appears a nail or something similar has been driven through it.

The initial mark is a lis which is in use during the periods 1529 to 1532 and 1538 to 1541. The reverse depicts a long cross with one pellet in each quarter surrounded by the legend which reads DEO/GRA/CI/AS. This coin is listed as extremely rare by North (1991:113).

There is a worn area above the crown which obscures part of the legend which otherwise reads I D G ROSA SINE SPINA. The reverse depicts a thistle in the field with a crown above. The reverse is much more worn than the obverse and is more crude. Most of the legend is obscured but it is possible to see the letter IVI at the 2 o'clock position. There is a coronet as an initial mark.
