A lead brooch of Weetch's type 4.C, dating to the early medieval period, c. AD 900 to 1000. The object was originally circular and flat, but it has been folded and bent, probably through post-depositional processes. The back of the object has the lugs and pin catch which would have formed part of the mechanism. The pin is missing. The front of the object has cast decoration with a central raised pellet with two collars surrounding it. Around the central motif is a double lozenge shape with concave sides.
