A mourning ring commemorating Sir John Marlay who died in 1673 and was mayor of Newcastle three times in the 17th century.
The ring is circular, complete, and has a D-shaped cross-section. Approximately 25% of the outside face of the ring is decorated; the central motif is a crude, incised skull. Either side of the skull there is some incised cross-hatching decoration which terminates in a point in the middle of the width of the band. The point has a star incised at that point. A gold posy ring of post medieval date, late 17th century to early 18th century.
The ring is circular in plan with a D-shaped cross section. The outside of the ring is not decorated although there are a few marks, probably from depostion. The inside of the ring has an inscription in an italic script which reads "Love is the Bond of Peace". There is a makers mark at the start of the inscription with the letters I and H in a rectangular frame.

The object is rectangular in plan and has relief moulded decoration on the front. The decoration is unclear but may be some sort of lis design. There is a border around the edge of the object. The back of the object is undecorated and there is a circular recess which may have held some form of attachment.

A copper alloy book fitting dating to the post medieval period, c. AD 1600 to 1750.
The object is sub-rectangular in plan and consists of two thin copper alloy plates. One of plates flares outwards and this edge has two notches cut into it creating three bulbs. At this end of the object there are two rivets through both plates. A copper alloy heraldic mount probably dating to the post medieval period.
The object is circular in plan with irregular, damaged edges. One side of the object is flat and undecorated whereas the other side features an ornate, heraldic motif of one shield, divided in two vertically. The right side of the shield has a possible dragon design while the left features a simple saltire. There is no evidence for any enamel or other surface treatment.

A complete gold finger ring of 16th-17th century date.
The ring is composed of a strip of D-sectioned gold, bent and seal with a butt joint. The outer surface of the ring has a raised repeating crossed hatch design which creates repeating lines of two diamond cells and two separate half or triangular cells in each row. This would have originally held enamel, which is now missing. The inner surface is smooth and flat with an incised inscription in Roman lettering. There is no visible makers mark.
The object's form has been distorted by post-depositional processes.
