A copper alloy buckle frame possibly dating to the early medieval period. The buckle is D-shaped in plan with a point on the outer curved edge which may have been intended as zoomorphic face which can be seen more clearly on SWYOR-AC86A7. The bar of the buckle is straight and narrower than the rest of the frame with clear evidence for wear in the centre, most likely from the tongue. Projecting downwards from the point at which the bar meets the frame are two small loops which may have formed a second bar so that the plate was attached via a hinge.
