A fragment of a Medieval copper alloy buckle dating from AD 1250 - 1450. It is of Meols type 8 but is unusually large. Only the outer edge of the oval loop survives. The outer edge is expanded and moulded into alternate wide and narrow lobes. Measurements are; length 21.4mm, width 46.8mm, thickness 5.7mm and weight 9.61g.

An incomplete copper alloy Medieval buckle and plate dating from about AD 1250 - 1500. The single D shaped loop is plain and the bar is not recessed nor offset. The outer edge is the same thickness as the bar. The frame is bevelled on both faces. The pin is missing, but the sheet plate survives. It is folded across its width round the bar and has a slot for the pin. The attachment end is rounded and has a single central copper alloy rivet. Compare Whitehead (2003) number 46 and 47 on page 18). The buckle is 26.7mm long, 19.7mm wide, 3.3mm thick and weighs 2.11g.

A copper alloy fragment, probably of a Post Medieval buckle dating from AD 1500 - 1900. Only half of the outer edge survives. It is unclear whether the buckle is single looped or double looped. There is a knop at the end of the missing bar, and the loop is a rounded rectangular one. The outer edge is embellished with a panel of interlace decoration. There is a large projecting grooved pin rest surmounted by a chunky knop which is possibly intended to be zoomorphic with a groove along the outer edge representing a mouth, and notches on the upper face hinting at eyes and ears. …

An incomplete copper alloy Medieval pin form a disc on pin buckle dating from AD 1300 - 1500. It is of Redmayne (2014) Type B. It is a circular disc with a tapering pin projecting at one end, and an incomplete loop projecting at the other. the disc is decorated with a central circular recess which contains the remains of an adhesive or setting. There are very faint radiating lines on the frame round the recess. Measurements are; length 22.5mm, width 12.1mm, thickness 2.4mm and weight 1.0g. An Early Medieval cast copper alloy D-shaped buckle with an openwork decorated frame dating from AD 900 - 1000. The buckle has an openwork stranded interlace frame. The frame is D shaped in plan and domed. The bar has the remains of the hinge loops from the plate surviving, but the plate is missing. The pin is also absent. The frame has a black/green patina. Measurements are; length 22.5mm, width 23.8mm, thickness 9.2mm and weight 9.10g. The style of the interlace suggests that it derives from the Scandinavian Borre-style.  See SUR-72BAB2 and SWYOR-CC4246 for comparison.

An complete copper alloy double looped Medieval asymmetrical buckle dating from AD 1350 to 1450. One of the loops is oval and the other is rectangular in form and smaller.  Both faces of the buckle are flat.  No pin is present and the buckle has a dark grey patina. It is 18.1mm long, 27.6mm wide and 2.2mm thick. It weighs 1.8.g. Compare YORYM-AEFE74. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.87, number 540 and is dated to about AD 1350 - 1450.

A complete copper-alloy tinned buckle of Post-Medieval date, about AD 1660 - 1720. The buckle is oval with a drilled frame for a separate spindle. The spindle is made of iron and is in sittum but the pin and plate are missing. The upper surface is decorated with moulded oblique grooves. The reverse is flat with bevelled edges on the inner edge. The metal has a dark shiny grey patina and is in fair condition. It is rectangular, shorter than it is wide, and folded round the bar of a copper alloy buckle frame of which only the bar survives. The sheet plate has a rounded attachment end and a slot for the missing pin. There are two dome headed copper alloy rivets at the attachment end.  Measurements are; length 15.5mm, width 19.0mm, thickness 4.5mm and weight 3.18g.

The sides curve into the outer edge which is bevelled. Measurements are; length 15.8mm, width 23.1mm, thickness 3.6mm and weight 2.96g. Compare Whitehead (2003) number 126 but this very plain form could also be Post Medieval. The pin is missing.

The bar and frame are sub-circular in cross-section. The bar is curved owing to the distortion, and the outer edge is strongly bent. The pin and plate are missing. Measurements are; length 32.4mm, width 27.2mm, thickness 3.2mm and weight 6.33g. The plain design and cross-section suggest a late date for this buckle.

A copper alloy Post Medieval double looped buckle probably dating from AD 1600 - 1800. It is sub-rectangular with straight sides and gently curved outer edges with rounded corners. The bar is integral. Both loops angle upwards from the bar and the front face is bevelled. The pin and plate are missing. Measurements are; length 22.8mm, width 18.4mm, thickness 4.1mm and weight 2.38g. There is no close parallel for this very plain buckle in Whitehead (2003), but 330 is similar though larger.
